Waiting for Baby Girl: A Spring Family Maternity Session in Cleveland
This early spring maternity session for my friend Alex was one of those sessions that just felt easy and sweet from start to finish. Alex and her husband are getting ready to welcome their third baby — another little girl — and their two older daughters are already so excited to meet their baby sister.
We met among the apple trees just as they were starting to bloom. Early spring in Cleveland can be unpredictable, but we lucked out with soft light, fresh air, and blossoms opening all around us. It felt like the perfect setting for a growing family and a season full of change.
The girls were completely drawn to Alex’s baby bump the entire time — little hands resting there, hugs from both sides, and lots of curiosity about when their sister would arrive. Those moments are always my favorite as a Cleveland maternity photographer. They’re real, unposed, and full of connection — exactly what I want families to remember from this stage.
We kept things simple and let the kids lead. There was no rushing, no forcing smiles, just walking, standing together, and soaking in this moment before life gets a little louder. Sessions like this are such a reminder that maternity photos aren’t just about the bump — they’re about the family you already have and the one you’re about to welcome.
Alex, thank you for letting me capture this season for you. Watching your girls already step into their roles as big sisters was such a joy, and I know these photos will mean even more once your third girl is finally here.
If you’re looking for maternity photography in Cleveland that feels natural, relaxed, and focused on real connection, spring sessions like this are such a beautiful option.
